About my Quest

Complete the race in under 12 11 10 hours and raise $3000 $6000 $8000 for cancer research

On August 13, 2016, I will participate in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race in Leadville, Colorado. Deemed "The Race Across the Sky," this event is the toughest mountain bike endurance event in North America. I have been training for this for 4 years.

In December 2015, I lost a very close friend to esophogeal cancer. He was an inspirational endurance athlete who never stopped smiling and never gave up. He ran marathons for fun and his goal was to participate in the Leadville 100 Run. I will be riding in his honor. I also have a family member that just overcame stage 4 throat cancer. His determination and will to endure inspires me to keep fighting until I cross the finish line in Colorado and to keep raising money so that more people can beat cancer.

In support of this effort, I'm asking you for a donation to the The Cancer Research Institute, a highly rated non-profit organization that is pioneering a revolutionary way of treating cancer by harnessing and enhancing the innate powers of the human immune system. With their research, breakthrough treatments are becoming available that can change the lives of thousands of families.

This is where you come in. They need your help. Provide a donation today and let's fight together so that we can all endure.

Inspiration

Thank you for your support. Your words of encouragement make a difference.
My mom has recently started immunotherapy for kidney cancer She has made significant progress, with tumor shrinkage and alleviation of symptoms. I am happy to support your goal and contribute to the elimination of cancer.

Dad, don’t stop pedaling!

When we think of how many people we have known that we’ve lost to cancer, we need to find better treatments and cures. Glad you took the initiative to ride.

From a very proud mom for an amazing son, husband and father.

You’re an inspiration on and off the trail. Go on… inspire more!

That race seems like a bear. 100 miles on a regular road bike seems like a lot. A 100 miles on a mountain bike, in the mountains? Yikes.

The race looks insane but, if I were a betting man, I’d put my money on you to finish.

Can’t even imagine successfully competing in something like this. Enjoy it and please don’t get hurt (at least seriously).
I’d rather support you than pretend I can undertake such a miserable feat myself!

We are all in this together!

Thanks for providing the inspiration and opportunity to donate for a great cause.

Adam will be with you the entire way and loving every minute of it.

Great cause and happy to help train.
Sad about your friend. Good for you for turning this into a good cause in his memory.

You better win!

I’m really sorry to hear about your friend. I’m glad you’ve found a way to give some meaning to the loss.
You’ve always set a great example for me for seeking challenges and enjoying it as a way to better yourself. Now you are doing it to help others and honor Adam- this is really special Dave.

Crush it.

You’ve got this Dave. Pace yer bad self on the road to Leadville, but you’ve got this.
Train hard for a great cause bro, good luck.

Don’t think Meat. Just pedal.

I’ve decided that you are perhaps the biggest badass I know.

Your effort is making the world a better place.

You have shared your spirit with us graciously, now take our energy with you on this journey.
Jimmy Carter was treated with immunotherapy drugs. This is a very promising treatment that has momentum. Thanks for supporting this and ride hard.
You bike to the top of volcanos on your vacation!! So if anyone has this, you do!
We too have lost several friends to cancer, and so your story was near and dear to our hearts. I commend you for taking on this challenge remember – Pain is temporary, pride is forever.

It has been a pleasure training with you. Best of Luck. Good Legs/No Bonks.

You know that you are my hero, so you better ride hard

Adam totally loved the challenge of endurance sports too. We know you’ll give it all you’ve got and make us proud. Ride smart, strong and like the wind!
Good luck! Thanks for doing this.
